Mass Arrival
Mass Arrival is a public art intervention first performed on Yonge Street in the Summer 2013 by a group of artists, designers, and community advocates.
The piece commemorated the 2010 MVSun Sea‘s arrival in BC of 492 Sri-Lankan Tamil refugees in BC, by inverting “the image of the MV Sun Sea, full of Tamil refugees that were labeled terrorists, criminals, and smugglers, to that of a similar ship full of white-appearing people in white shirts.”
